Which Hosting Plan should I select?-
The hosting plans are listed in on the Services page. You have a choice of 4 plans each plan has an increasing level of services. The Standard plan is the basic plan for most small business with a brochure site. The Business plan and other are more suitable for those that wish to use dynamic or ecommerce sites.
If you already have a website elsewhere, check the stats for the website and work out the amount of bandwidth and disk space you need. This would indicate the minimum hosting plan you should be looking at.
The Support page offers a bandwidth calculator, this provides the minimum amount of bandwidth a site might require based on the input. It only considers the abount of bandwidth for the website based on webpages, it does not include bandwidth used by email, ftp and other factors.
Next decide will you need one of more SQL databases, what about email accounts ect. Once you have decided on the minimum plan look through the services offered and decided whether they meet your requirements, if not then more to the next plan. - How do I move my website to Rightmark Hosting?

To eliminate downtime you will need to run your current hosting plan while you open an account with Rightmark Hosting. The whole process can take up to three days to complete, but best to leave about a week to be on the safe side.
- Ensure you have a copy of your website.
- Select a hosting plan and open an account with Rightmark Hosting. We try to ensure that this is completed within an hour but budget for 24 hours to be safe.
- Upload your website to your new Rightmark Hosting account. It is good idea to make a sutble change to your website, such as using a different heading or change the title, this will be explained below.
- Go to where you have your domain name stored and alter the nameservers to ns1.rightmark.co.uk and ns2.rightmark.co.uk, the propogation of these changes can take upto three days, a .co.uk domain is often a lot quicker and I have know this to take only half and hour! This process is reffered to as DNS propogation.
- While you are waiting for the DNS propogation to occur, you should start to configure your email accounts ect.
- Check your website frequently. Initially, it will display your old website and then between half a day and three days (once propogation of your DNS changes has occurred) you will see you new website. Remember, I asked you to make a subtle change to the site. Well this is why, because you will now be able to tell the difference between your old site and your new site.
- Cancel your old hosting account - as you have now moved your website.

Do you support ASP?

ASP and ASP.NET are server side scripting languages developed for Windows by Microsoft. We offer Linux Hosting which uses PHP server side scripting.

What sort of support can you offer?

If you look through this website a large amount of work has been undertaken to provide you with all the information you need. As an account holder you will have direct access to support by raising a ticket. We take all support issues seriously and try to provide the best possible help in a timely manner.
We also are our own customers as we use the same setup as our customers, your problems are our problems!
Unlike other providers, we also provide an off-network support page, should the network and all the servers fail, we will still be able to communicate the problem with you via this page. As yet, we have never need to use it but you never know when it will be important.
We currently enjoy a 100% uptime which is independently monitored and we have every intention of keeping it that way.

Do you provide Adult Hosting?

Can I sell online with your shopping cart?

The basic answer is yes, BUT to sell online you need to accept creadit cards. Do you have a merchant account. Many companies offer this facility, but it can be expensive and difficult. First, select your payment gateway (the company that will process creadit card transactions) then select a shopping car that will support that payment gateway.

Do you do domain registrations?

We can register your domain for you through a major domain registrar. There is a £5 administration fee per domain in addition to the registration fees (this is is often cheaper than using domain name resellers). Contact for more information. If you prefer to register your domain name yourself we recommend 123-reg.

Why do you only offer monthly hosting?

Many companies offer annual hosting and this for their benefit. You will normally lose the whole annual hosting cost if you cancel your account.
We offer monthly so you can remain in control of your hosting. If you no longer wish to host with us, then raise a support ticket and will will close your account as you require, see our Terms and Conditions, and we also hope that we will be welcoming you back in short time as well. -
Why don't you offer unlimited bandwidth?

Because we try to remain as honest as possible, our hosting plans provide realistic and generous allowances. Always check the Terms and Conditions, especially those companies offering products that are two good to be true. Normally, in the small print you will find a clause that tells you that if you use too much bandiwdth they will close your account. Let's face it, I am sure Microsoft would like to park their website with them if this was completely true!!

What credit/debit cards do you accept?

We accept the folowing cards through PayPal: Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Switch, Solo, Delta , Electron.

Do you accept cheques?

We do not currently accept cheques. As we only have monthly hosting, accepting cheques would not be a viable option.
However, please let us know if this is something you would like to do and we may revise our policy if there is a sufficient number of people that would like to pay by this method.
If you do not have a credit card, then please contact us to setup a standing order mandate.
